2003 Ingomar Franklin Park Athletic Association National League 11-12 year-old Williamsport Team captures Little League Baseball Pennsylvania District #4 and Section #1 Championships

In 2003, the Ingomar National League Williamsport team became only the 7thteam in Ingomar-Franklin Park Baseball Association's 52-year history to reach the Pennsylvania State Championship. Ingomar National went undefeated in District play and beat Moon 7-3 in the championship game at Vestal field to win Little League District 4. District 4 included 16 teams from throughout the Pittsburgh area. The team then advanced on to the Pennsylvania Section 1 Tournament held in North Braddock, Pa. that included teams from State College, Greensburg-West Point, Yough and Huntington. Ingomar National beat Huntington 10-1 in the championship game to win Section 1 and accepted an invitation to the State Championship round. Game highlights appeared on the WTAE TV 4 sports broadcast that evening.

Ingomar National represented Section 1 as one of five teams in the State of Pennsylvania to participate in the Pennsylvania State Championship held in State College, Pa. The others were from various corners of Pennsylvania-Hermitage, Lower Perkiomen, Lehigh and Keystone. The State Championship tournament was one no one would ever forget that included playing on a world class little league field, ceremonies reminiscent of Williamsport and a behind the scenes tour of Beaver Stadium. Ingomar National opened with a first round 7-2 win against Lower Perkiomen. Lower Perkiomen beat Ingomar National, who finished 3rd, two days later and captured the state title. Lower Perkiomen later advanced to the championship game of the Little League Mid Atlantic Regional in Bristol, Connecticut in a nationally televised game on ESPN2. It was only one game away from going to Williamsport at that point and its only loss was to Ingomar National.

Ingomar National had a great and memorable 2003 season. A large core of the team also completed an exceptional 5-year tournament run that included 13 tournament championships, 120 tournament wins and the 9-10 year old Little League District 4 Championship.
