IFPAA Junior Softball Slow Pitch Newsletter update

 

 

Welcome to the 2005 Junior Slow Pitch League!! My name is Bob Gumash, the Commissioner of this league and the purpose of this newsletter is to pass along information on the League and an important date that is upcoming.

 

At the Junior level, the players will experience for the first time a drafted team instead of the neighborhood structured teams of the past. There will be a tryout, the players will be evaluated and then a draft will occur putting together competitive, more evenly matched teams. Each registered player will be drafted onto a team. As a result of the structure of how the teams are formed at this level, carpool requests and manager requests will be subject to the outcome of the draft.

 

****Tryouts are scheduled for Saturday March 12^th, 2005 starting at 3:30 in the afternoon until completed. We will be staggering the scheduled tryout times to try to be as efficient as possible and too try not to waste too much time waiting around. Players with the beginning letter of their last name please arrive at the following times:

 

A-C: 3:30 D-H: 4:15 I-P: 4:45 Q-Z: 5:15

 

The tryouts will be held at the NAI Lower gym and please bring a glove to the tryout-bats and balls will be provided. At some point after the tryout is completed, the draft will occur, the teams will be formed and we will be our way to another fun and successful season. If you cannot make it to the scheduled time on the 12th above or have any other questions, please let me know via my email address below.

 

I very much look forward to working with everyone this year and appreciate all the time and effort everyone puts forth to make this a rewarding experience for all. Let’s learn a few things, make some new friends and have a lot of fun along the way!
