Dear Mustang Families,
Welcome to the 2005 Mustang (10 year old) baseball season and thank you again for joining IFPAA. My name is Rich Green and I am the commissioner for this year’s Mustang program. I am looking forward to meeting all of you and getting together with some good friends from IFPAA baseball. I have been involved with IFPAA for the past 5 years as a league coach, manager, and Fall Ball director for last season’s Fall Ball leagues for ages 5 through 15.
Our age group has been a traditionally strong group with a lot of parent involvement. I look forward to having more of you get involved in volunteer work and leadership roles. There are many opportunities to become involved within our Mustang level as well as within the IFPAA organization. It is a wonderful way to meet new people and make lasting friendships.
I will need assistance in the following areas:
The Mustang League is comprised of children who turned or will turn 10 between 8/1/04 - 7/31/05.
Our games will be played at Boro field (across from the Franklin Nursery) and at Vestal 3. All teams will typically have one weeknight game and one Saturday game.
Teams are once again chosen by draft selection, and players will be in the American or National League depending on their birth date. Our tryouts will be March 6th between 6:00pm and 9:00pm at the Baierl Center. The Baierl Center is located directly to the left of North Allegheny High School and it is also beside the football field and the tennis courts.
This year our league has the opportunity to participate in a Northern Suburb Traveling Baseball League. This league will compromise IFPAA northern suburb baseball organizations.
Tournament teams will be selected through tryouts and will play during the month of July. Our league will also have 2 Williamsport teams. These teams are comprised of children voted on by the players in the league. They compete against other Williamsport teams within the district.
The players will be challenged this year by the next step in their development. All of the rules for the Mustang league can be found on the website,
Our goal is to have teams in both leagues that are competitively balanced and to increase the development of all players.
Please visit the website often, ifpaa.org for updates communications and more.
